Access Rentals as Major Supplier to the Construction of Perth’s Direct Factory Outlet.

The opening of Perth’s newest shopping destination, the Direct Factory Outlet (DFO) located in Redcliffe, brought an unrivaled outlet shopping experience to Western Australia. The DFO hosts more than 100 specialty stores with its standards to be in line with Vicinity Centre’s other DFOs located along the east coast of Australia.

Access Rentals was a major supplier of equipment on the construction of Perth’s Direct Factory Outlet, being a leader in the Australian access equipment rental industry. DFO was built by Georgiou and was the company’s first project within the retail sector. Located in the Perth Airport precinct, the 24,000 square metre space features many Australian and International brands, casual dining, a children’s playground and parking for more than 1,500 cars.

The large construction project valued at $69m was completed on time and on budget within the scheduled 15 month period, with construction beginning in July 2017. The DFO had 600 workers at peak time during fit out and has since create over 100 jobs since opening its doors to the public in September 2018.

Access Rentals was a major supplier of EWPs including scissor lifts, boom lifts and material handlers on the project, supplying the majority of the trades such as electrical contractors, steel erection, ceiling and wall construction and fitout. The Genie GS 1932 electric scissor lift was the preferred type of EWP equipment hired on the project, because of its compact size and working height. It was perfect for the operator to access tight areas, it also has a massive extendable platform with excellent turning circle, making it the perfect machine for contractors to use. Forklifts and telehandlers were also used to move huge pallets of wall sheeting externally to where they had to be positioned on site.
