Access Group Australia Constructs New Purpose-Built Lean Production Facility

Marking a fresh chapter in the Access story, Access Group and its associated companies are set to move to brand new, purpose-built premises due for completion in November 2017. Symbolising significant company growth, the move was prompted by the need to have an all-inclusive site that factored in all the various companies and their specific requirements.

The result is a dedicated, state-of-the-art facility measuring a huge 21,000 square metres showcasing world-leading practises in lean production. Access Group continually applies lean management tools to all aspects of the business, striving to continuously improve practices in order to increase efficiency and quality across the company, which ultimately means a better experience for the huge customer base that now stretches right across Australia.

Access Group General Manager – National Operations, Henk Oudman, will be overseeing the move to ensure no disruption will be caused to the day-to-day operations of all businesses concerned: “With our extensive experience in lean management processes, our goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations, and continue to lead the industry in maintaining commercial excellence. Our new facility will ultimately set the benchmark within the access equipment industry.”

The new Access home is based in the industrial hub of Canning Vale. Spread out over two levels, the technologically advanced main office will house Access Hire, Access Rentals, Tilt Trays, Access Services Group, Generators Australia, Forklifts Australia, and the corporate group personnel and management. The new site design has been tailored specifically to take into account the unique and individual work spaces that are required for each separate company.

An extremely diverse business model that incorporates a wide range of staff members and operations, the core interests of Access Group will be well looked after. A massive yard will safely house all access equipment, with two separate factory spaces ensuring operations are kept running smoothly and efficiently around the clock.

Access Group Founder and Chief Executive Officer, John Jones, said he was “looking forward to the exciting move with much anticipation, which heralds a new phase for Access Group.”
Mr Jones said: “At Access Group, we pride ourselves on always being one step ahead of the game. The new premises will deliver increased productivity and will see the processing of an extraordinary volume of equipment. The sheer logistics of the new facility have not yet been attempted in the Perth access equipment industry by any of our competitors, and we can’t wait to get the new Access premises up and running.”
